Jimmy Challis Gore earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Health, Gallaudet University, in 1978, and his Master of Education from Boston University, in 1994. He has taught elementary, middle, and high school deaf children how to read and write English for over 12 years at Deaf schools. Additionally, he has taught children - one to one, and in groups with language disadvantaged, ADD, and ADHD deaf children. He has taught American Sign Language to hearing adults at several different educational institutions, including the University of Southern Maine, Boston University, and numerous communities in Massachusetts. He is certified to teach in Vermont, Massachusetts, and Maine, and is also a Developmental Reading Assessment Specialist. He also has served on a staff committee that developed the Developmental Reading Assessment for Deaf students, and the Curriculum Committee at the Governor Baxter School for the Deaf in Maine. He served as leading active member in a staff committee that developed the Developmental Reading Assessment for Deaf. Mr. Gore’s other experience with children extends to serving as a Camp Director for 6 years. He also has developed another innovative system of blocks called "The Learning Story Blocks" which is soon to be manufactured. Robert Gillies and he have been working together to develop MVL for over 5 years.

Robert C. Gillies
earned his Postgraduate Certificate for Teachers of the Deaf from 1984 - 1985 Manchester University, Manchester, England in 1985, and his Bachelor of Arts, Honours, in American Studies from Manchester University, Manchester, England, in 1980. He has taken several courses in audiology, speech and language development, sociology and history of education, psychology of education, and child development. He also has served on a staff committee that developed the Developmental Reading Assessment for Deaf students, and the Curriculum Committee at the Governor Baxter School for the Deaf in Maine. Additionally, he has taught children - individually,and in groups - with speech and/or language difficulties, devising some individual programs and creating individual materials. Mr. Gillies has also taught language arts, math, and history to groups in both primary and secondary departments. In England, Mr. Gillies was involved in the development and application of the Language Through Reading scheme that was being developed at that time for children at the school with language and speech disorders.
