Jimmy Challis Gore
Jimmy Challis Gore earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Health, Gallaudet University, in 1978, and his Master Education from Boston University, in 1994. He has taught elementary, middle, and high school deaf children how to read and write English for over 12 years at Deaf schools. Additionally, he has taught children- one to one, and in groups with language disadvantaged, ADD, and ADHD deaf children. He has taught American Sign Language to hearing adults at several different educational institutions, including the University of Southern Maine, Boston University, and numerous communities in Massachusetts. He is certified to teach in Vermont, Massachusetts, and Maine, and is also Developmental Reading Assesment Specialist. He also has served on a staff committee that developed the Developmental Reading Assesment for Deaf students, and the Curriculum committee at the Governor Baxter School for the Deaf in Maine. He served as leading active member in a staff committee that developed the Developmental Reading Assessment for Deaf. Mr. Gore’s other experience with children extends to serving as a Camp Director for 6 years. He also has developed another innovative system of blocks called “The Learning Story Blocks” which is soon to be manufactured. Robert Gillies and he have been working together to develop MVL for over 5 years.
